What the Heck Is Project-Based Learning?

Project based learning is real-life examples that prepare students for future life.
PBL is much more creative and less structure than typical lecture-style instruction. It involves hands-on activities and teaches students important skills necessary for navigating the world outside of school.
I think overall PBL is letting students be involved in deeper research of knowledge compared to lectures and just trying to memorize information.
I think PBL learning helps teachers more than we think. If you think about the different types of assessments formative can be used throughout the process while summative can be used towards the end of the lesson or unit. While teachers must relinquish some control you are building a relationship with your students that shows them that you trust them enough t to what should be done and vice versa.
Role-playing
Real-world scenarios
Blended writing genres
Multiple reading genres
Authentic assessments
AND MORE!!
I think that PBL allows for that hand's on experience that a lot of traditional learning people miss out on. We often give students the information but don't often ask them to apply it. PBL allows for students to take information that they are given and construct a project based on that information given to them.
I enjoy PBL because it's a hands-on experience and a lot of the time you get to move around and work with things so it's not a traditional learning style.
Providing students with real life examples is so important for their understanding of these concepts. It lets them see how they may one day have to use this information in the real world outside of a classroom.
real-life examples are great for helping students understand and retain content. This helps prepare them for the world outside of the classroom as well.
I think teaching and preparing students for real life and using examples is great for students.
Learning through real-life examples allows for students to connect through the real world and helps them become better learners and better people.
By experiencing true real life examples, students are more likely to feel confident in his/her skills.
I like the idea of learning through real-life examples. Learning is a process or journey, not a one-day event that ends after that day. Continuing the learning onto another day helps students remember what they learned and continue to apply it. Producing a product as a solution rather than answering some questions is the way in which students can properly explain their learning.
In PBL students show what they learn as they journey through the unit, interacting with its lessons, collaborating with each other and assessing themselves and each other. They don't just 'take a test', or produce something to show their learning - they show learning every step of the way.
