Inquiry-Based Learning: Developing Student-Driven Questions

Opening the gate to allow for curiosity and exploration improves engagement within students.
Students are much more engaged in learning when it is full of activity-based instruction that allows them to be curious and explore.
When students can apply what they are learning to their question, a lightbulb goes off and they understand the concept. This doesn't apply to every student but for the majority; inquiry-based learning is one of the best ways a student can learn.
Students are guiding their own learning and seems to be much for effective than lectures by a teacher, letting them be creative when it comes to their education.
This shows how great inquiry based learning can be for students, allowing them to be creative and directly apart of their learning.
I think that inquiry-based learning is the perfect balance between having a lesson that is strictly structured and one that is completely open ended.
I think guided questions can be great, but allowing students to ask questions no matter how crazy is great too. I think the phrase "there are no stupid questions" fits well with this.
This video shows that students can form their own driven questions and also find the answers using the knowledge they are learning.
This allows the teachers to guide a learning process in a unit they need to teach. In addition, the students become engaged as they have a voice in what they learn and how to learn. Which I completely agree with.
allowing studetns to use their knowledge and context cluse to find the answer is the best way for a student to learn
Student asked questions allow them a real life based problem solving situation. Being able to use prior knowledge to understand real life issues is what school is about right?
Allowing students to find their own answers and use common knowledge to help them in the real world.
I believe that this video demonstrates how inquiry-based learning engages students. They desire to know more about a subject and have questions.
I think of this as probing and pushing students to use the tools, information, and skills that they have to find answers to questions that they have. I think back to a course I took where we learned that some questions we need to ask need to be open-ended, inquire deeper learning, and critical thinking skills.
This really uses first hand critical thinking and problem solving because you are giving them a question and it is up to them on how they will solve it
this is a way for children to explore learning because when you give them a question try to give them a question that doesn't have the answer in it so it can become deeper thinking.
Guiding students to find their own answers or solutions helps prepare them for the real world
I love the idea of pushing students to find answer to their own questions. I've had many teachers to do this where they would answer my question with a question and I hated it at the time. However, now I see that this can offer a more in depth learning of the topic and also allows for me to learn ways to find answers to my own questions and learn even more.
I think having students answer their own questions requires them to think deeper which is a great thing.
Taking action is such an important part of teaching our children. Inquiry-based learning is a great way for students to learn information.
Having students answer their own questions allows them to think deeper and therefore practice critical thinking.
Asking questions is important for students when learning. Allowing the students to take over to ask and answer questions is awesome.
I like the idea of letting students form and answer their own questions. I am still a student and find that I still do this in order to better understand difficult concepts sometimes. I can also see why a teacher would do it, to better understand where the different students are as far as understanding of the material goes.
I love the idea of allowing the students to make the questions is important. Peers can collaborate to answer another peers partner. This allows the teacher to see the interests of the students to make the learning differentiated.
Students should be asking questions all the time to be able to learn.
