Students should be aware of the world around them through lesson plans created by the teacher.
Learning should be relevant and applicable. Students should be able to use what they learn in school to advance into their future, successfully equipped with tools and skills.
It is highly important to prepare students for real world situations and not blind them from what is truly going on in the world.
I think one of the most important aspects of PBL is taking students and challenging them with real world issue and situations. We always talk about education having to prepare them for the real world and while this is a small taste of what they will face this will give them a head start.
