Voice and Choice: It’s More Than Just "What"

Students who feel as though their voice is heard and valued are much more likely to be engaged in learning.
Students need to feel they are heard. We should hear how they need their learning environment to be to meet their needs. Students will engage more if they feel they are being heard.
When students have voice in their learning environment, they will be more engaged and apt to learn.
In my future classroom I will always try to implement student choice letting them know their opinion matters when it comes to THEIR education.
Allowing students to have a voice and a choice allows teachers to better meet their needs.
Students knowing how to use their voice is going to help them be successful.
An example of student voice and choice that I have experienced is establishing classroom rules as a collective on the first day of class. Each student can contribute what they believe is important as a classroom rule, and the entire class reaches a consensus on what they value in the classroom space.
There is more than one way to let students know that they have a voice and a choice in their learning. Allowing students to advocate for themselves allows us to better meet their learning needs.
I think if you want to include PBL in the classroom combined with student voice you must find the right balance of each in order to effectively teach the content that must be included.
A great example I can think of, of student voice/choice, is the creation of classroom rules with the students and teacher creating them.
Voice means to allow all to have a chance to speak and express how they are feeling and what are the things they would like to learn.
I personally will allow my students have their own voices and choices among their learning. This is important because we can get a better understanding of students needs, and ways we can provide guidance and extra help.
Voice means giving students the opportunity to express their thoughts and ideas.
I like how this helps the students become engaged in the learning as they are given a voice in what they want to learn and how they want to know, as we do in college.

When students share their ideas, it gives the student an opportunity to make a new friend that could have things in common.
Sharing ideas as a student is how one makes friends. Having things in common is what makes people enjoy another's company. It also allows students to learn more effectivley.
Allowing children to have a voice, in my opinion, is critical so that they can apply that talent later in life. By sharing their thoughts and gaining confidence, they can make a difference. When one student speaks up, other students can learn from him or her.
Having an opinion, idea, thought, or anything is worth a lot especially when you share it because you could have someone who has that same thought as you which links the two-thinking wise and perspective wise. We want to be heard and not only seen as people because we want to feel like we belong.
Your voice is worth a thousand words and could change everything by simply voicing it

Students who voice their opinion in a respectful way are more likely to be successful because they are grasping the content in their own way.
I think as educators it is important to encourage students to use their voice and speak up when they feel they have something add to what we are learning. I think when students do this it shows other students that they to have the ability to speak up and use their voice to spread awareness or talk about an important topic they may feel strongly about.
Students who exercise their voices hold a position of leadership in the educational setting, and encourage others to do the same. Exercising their voices is so important in education and will help students grow even further.
Students who use their voice can encourage others to use their voice and show them its ok to go above and beyond. Using your voice can also help students gain confidence in my opinion because they then know they are not being ignored.
Students who use their voice are more likely to go beyond and above and be able to speak up for themselves.
Students who use their voice are more likely to be prepared for the real world and the things that they want later in life. It is important to have a choice in a learning environment for the benefit of the students and teachers.

Allowing students to make decisions for themselves and their futures helps them channel their interests. students should work with who they are comfortable with and who they know has the knowledge they feel necessary to get to the end of the road.
A students voice gives them the chance to be engaged and even change others mindsets for the better, to start with one student and encourage several others.
Students having a voice allows them to connect with their environment and to have courage that they can do more and are able to challenge themselves .
"Voice" is giving students an opportunity to share their knowledge and thoughts. It is also listening. We need to hear the students and value what they have to say! It is important for student's to express themselves and feel heard.
