I like the example they gave with organic foods, the organic apple is the social invention and the consumers buying the apple or choosing to buy the organic food is the innovation.

If we are to make a change and help make these issues better we have to do far more than treat the symptoms. We need to get to the root of the problems and go from there.
What I took from this video was learning to find new ways to handle negative situations and how to come from situations.
The video piqued my interest since it is up to individuals and communities to improve the world. For example, the film discussed how anyone, can become a social innovator. People must support what they believe is in their community's best interests.

One thing that I noticed throughout this video is that all of the definitions of social innovation are focused around finding new solutions to problems, and each individuals impact on this change.
I think social innovation is when you think the problem can be solved one way and another person will want to solve it completely differently. Then you discuss what way will be the best.
when i hear the word social innovation i think how one person thinks the situation can be solved and then you talk to someone else about the same situation and it will be totally opposite to them on what they think will be the best way.
Everyone can be a social innovator. Social innovation is about coming up with many different solutions to problems that can help the world become a better place. You need to recognize challenges and see the opportunities that lie within those challenges

Social innovation is coming up with different ways to solve solutions that help make the world a better place.
Social innovation is primarily the idea of coming up with alternatives to commit to change and help solve some of the more prevalent problems in society.
Solutions over problems, opportunities over challenges, these are what social innovation is. Being willing to take risks in order to make a difference. getting to the root is so important as treating the "symptoms" doesn't rid the problem. It is very difficult to get to the root, but once it is found the difference made outweighs the challenges faced. This is something everyone is a part of, and we can't all be inventors! Making good choices at the consumer level is extremely important to the point that social innovators are trying to make.
Social innovation is primarily coming up with new or changed ways to help solve issues that are prevalent in our society/world.
Find alternatives to commit to change on addressing issues within the world.
Finding different ways to see the results we want to see This could also mean finding different ways to attack these problems.
Socail innovations are ways we recognize the challanges in others lives and how to deal with those same problems in our lives.
By watching this video I have learned that social innovation is all about reaching the root of the problems, figuring out a solution, and then taking the action to make the world better and solve the problems we see.

I love this! We need social innovation for change. That is what makes our society ever evolving. Everyone is unique and brings new perspectives. We as a society continue to create and innovate for a better whole.
Social innovation is a choice to provide solutions and adapt ideas that promote the planet first.
I believe that social innovation in a way does make the world a better place. Many people make positive innovations to make the world a better place. I believe that people make innovations without even knowing. For example, you can create something that makes something easier for you but that innovation once it is shares it innovates other people.
What I took from this was, to keep ourselves accountable for negative things and making a change.
It is a movement that individuals or groups will support wholeheartedly as long as the opportunities are available to them.
One of the concerns this video brought to my attention is the idea of economic stability. While I agree that every person can get behind a social movement, we need to acknowledge that not every person has the additional money to support campaigns or buy locally which tends to be more expensive.
We can only make the world a better place if we share stories and ideas. I would have loved to see more examples.
I definitely agree that it is up to us. We tend to complain for everything we believe to be unfsir un the world but we don't take action. We must be aware that we can be part of the solution to the problems we see around us with daily actions. We should set small goals to see that we can become social innovators and as teachers we should encourage students to become social innovators. There are many ways to do so. We should find ours.
