I believe changing and revising lessons each year is a must because the world and what happens in it changes every day. Keeping the core values and principals in school is also important.
As the world is changing constantly, teachers must be able to adapt lessons in order to match up with societal changes.
We must change our lessons, revise, and review. We cannot teach the same lesson each year in a world that changes every day. We must create lessons that prepare students for the real world.
Global competence embeds a large variety of skills and perspectives. It is important to be aware and understanding, as well as engaged and able to problem-solve.
In order for teachers to be successful educators I believe they must accept there is change happening in the world, starting with how and what they are teaching. Teachers must have a great understand of materials and skills to give out the information in order to be of an example for students to follow.
the students need to understand the matrix of the globe and this chart explains it so well with each part and with the behaviors from yourself and the skills you acquire and values and attributes you obtain you will know your role in with the globe.
In order for students to be culturally competent, teachers must also be. Teachers can not hold an expectation for their students if they are not also participating.
If we want our students to be culturally competent, we as the teachers have to be willing to model these characteristics ourselves.
Teachers should familiarize themselves with each behavior, value/attitude, and skill to become more culturally competent themselves and in order to instill those values within students. Teachers should be checking themselves and their lessons to ensure they are upholding all of these qualities, in life and in the classroom.
When you allow lesson it be engaging students tin to focus more and want to be a part of the lesson more.
Engaging lessons helps keep the students involved and wanting to learn more.
When lessons are engaging and students are interested the classroom is very productive. This also helps with behaviors in the classroom. As an educator we need to push for our students to be a problem solver.
Teachers need to help students develop the appropriate skills to become globally competent. Before we can teach global competence, we need to educate ourselves about world events and global issues.
If we want students to become globally competent, we as teachers need to develop these attributes in ourselves and be able to find was to foster them to our students.
Students must invest in their education in order for teachers to be able to teach them. The teachers lessons must be able to fit students behavioral needs, skill set, and values in order for them to be successful learners.
I think one of the most important takeaways I have from this article is that teachers cannot help students if they do not understand, actively perform, and know how to transmit the knowledge successfully. If you are missing one link in this chain, it makes it difficult to build trust and relationships with those students.
This diagram allows a teacher to make sure a lesson is meeting the behaviors, skills, and values/attitudes of their students. I like this method as its easy to understand why these three things are most important in planning and teaching a lesson. I like that it is student-centered.
Teachers should always revise and review their lesson plans, materials, classwork, etc. To ensure they are prepared and are teaching what they need to teach. We as educators need to have knowledge and understanding of what we teach in order to, guide our students effectively through lessons, and work.
Teachers should always preview their lesson before teaching it to the class. When teachers preview the lesson it would give them the idea of should they have to make changes or figure out different teaching methods.
It is important for the teachers to understand and analyze the lesson before presenting it to the students.
This graphic shows the four areas in which global competency is created. I agree that understanding problems while understanding how cultural aspects could have caused it or may not even consider it an issue is essential.
All teachers and educators should possess these traits and skills. As a teacher, having these skills open up a new world of opportunities for students and for yourself.
I like behaviors it goes into detail sputa the different perspectives to solving problem solving and how you make a decision. I do think that as a teacher you should have these qualities and if you are meeting the qualities It should be easy for your students to as well because they can see them in you.
I look at this as one of those lists of qualities that all teachers should try and possess because it can lead to students picking up these habits as well. When students have this constant role model and example to look at, they begin to follow it as well which is what we should all be aiming for. I think we need to educate people who will grow up and go off to change the world for the better!
As role models to our students, us teachers need to posses these qualities and show that we hold them. Student will be around us for many hours a week and are easily influenced by us.
I believe educators must possess and master such qualities. It will then be easy for students to have such qualities since they have a role model to copy in the classroom.
the world savvy matrix seems to be a combination of behaviors, skills, vaules and attitudes. this all corelates and relates to your core vaules and whatver those mean to you.
these core concepts should be a part of the curriculum that teachers learn for their education. I believe for us to make the best students and foster growth we must foster growth within ourselves first.
I think as current or future educators it is important for us to first examine ourselves and see if we have these attributes and have mastered them. It will be easier for us as educators to foster these attributes into our future students if we attain these attributes ourselves.
The core concepts should be taught to all teachers because they are very important.
These core concepts in this article are very important and needs to be taught to teachers. It goes into great detail!
This article helps to identify what exactly global competence is. Global competence is so important especially in an ever changing society.
I think that all of these core concepts are very important and need to be shown and talked about to all teachers
I like how this document touched on the core concepts, behaviors, skills, and values/attributes and then goes into detail about each one. Everything on this document is so important.
This is interesting because it mentions core concepts, behaviors, skills, values/attributes.
I like the way that the concepts in the "matrix" are shown separate but there is also some overlap in these concepts. I also found it interesting that it mentions immersion in order to fully understand parts of a culture, and think that the immersion aspect could definitely be altered some for instruction. Not entirely sure how, but that is one of the first things I thought of.
I liked how it breaks it down into core concepts, behaviors, values and attitudes, and skills. Each section had great information.
I like how it mentions being immersed in a culture to understand and learn the differences between diverse groups. It is also important to further knowledge on behavior and how that affects one decision-making skills.
Being immersed in the culture in order to learn the behaviors associated with it makes a difference.again we strive to know why and there’s always a root to a behavior.
I like how to compares the behaviors and more , to show exactly how different and similar we are ,also what type of behaviors are used when learning about the different cultures.
It is an important behavior to seeks out and applies an understanding of different perspectives to problem-solving and decision-making.
BEfore teaching students these topics we need to immerse ourselves in the ideas and understand the culture ourselves
I like that the article mentions the importance for us to be engaged citizens, we must be engaged in order to understand what problems we have in society and how we can solve them.
Further knowledge and analysis in the understanding of global competence is needed by educators before teaching it to students.
Before we can teach global competence, we need to understand the history of different cultures.
I like that the article mentions approaching thinking and problem solving collaboratively. Students work better when there is a common goal such as problem solving. This builds relationships and cultivates teamwork.
You need to understand your current culture and history before you can learn about other cultures and their history. Technology allows us to share and collaborate on ideas on a global scale.
My thoughts on being global savvy is being aware and seeing differences in people. Also the internet connecting evryone and how we are all in the same world.
